I just ran across this interesting comparison chart on flashcarts.
I noticed that the iTouch DS has some pretty nice features including real time save (RTS) and slow motion. I had no idea this cart had those features until I saw this. I'm just curious why no one seems to say much about them or recommend them? It looks to me that it is the cheapest option with RTS!
For the "best" flashcarts, it seems the general consensus around here is as follows (obviously open to debate):
"Premium" - CylcoDS, M3 Real (with an honorable mention to Supercard DSOne)
"Budget" - Acekard 2, Edge
Maybe I'm missing something, but in the budget range I'd say that the iTouch DS should definitely at least get a look. It's pretty much the same price as the Edge and only a few more dollars than the Acekard. It has RTS and slow motion (which I believe neither the Acekard nor Edge have). To add to that, it's also made by the same dependable team behind M3 Real so I don't see support dying off any time soon. Maybe it's not quite the budget king since I think Acekard still holds that slot, but I think it should be considered to be recommended at or above the level of the Edge anyway. It could potentially be considered as a cheap alternate to some of the more expensive ones (if you really need RTS and slow motion) as well, right?
Could we not then update my little chart to go as follows?:
"Premium" - CylcoDS, M3 Real, iTouch DS (with an honorable mention to Supercard DSOne)
"Budget" - Acekard 2, iTouch DS, Edge
One of the main reasons I'm considering this is because the Acekard is currently sold out at DX. I was going to order the Edge... but now after considering all this, I'm thinking the iTouch DS may be a better option. I could be missing a big piece to the puzzle though? Surely there has to be some reason no one talks about this cart much. I've spent a decent amount of time searching these forums and really didn't find much at all on the iTouch DS. So it's hard to draw any conclusions.
I'd be extremely interested in hearing everyone's thoughts on the subject!
