Mario All Stars + World has minor but noticably annoying slowdown with the sound. Same goes for Yoshi's island. Yoshi's Island has even lagged somewhat on certain parts. For Yoshi's Island I was using snes9x 2002, I had to change it for Mario All Stars because my character wouldn't move for some reason until I changed the core to snes9x 2010, but it was still kind of laggy/choppy sound. any advice on better methods for emulating snes games on PSvita?

Yeah, snes on the vita can be hit or miss, best core for me is snesx2005, but if the game runs bad in it I use snesx2002, or if it's a rom hack that won't open in that version I use snesx2010 and overclock, it's not perfect but it's as good as it gets.

I tried standalone emulators and didn't notice any performance boost.

Is SNES emulation on Adrenaline better? I know GBA emulation works better on PSP.

Are you using the Standard or the piglet version of Retroarch?

https://buildbot.libretro.com/stable/1.10.3/playstation/vita/

https://github.com/SonicMastr/PIB-Configuration-Tool

With the piglet version I personally had never a problem regarding snes emulation.....

Can you play Kirby's dream land 3?

That game never ran okay in any core, the only one that was fullspeed was snesx2002 but the water wasn't transparent so when you got to those levels you were done

@xolNARlox
Can the piglet coexist with the "normal Retroarch"(own bubble) on the same Vita?
As far as I know this is not possible (should be the same Title ID):teach:

If you ask me it does not actually make sense to have two versions at the same time on the system.

I think standard? https://i.imgur.com/gjDHFxO.jpg

How do I get the VPK for the config tool? I don't see anything I can download. Is the config tool even necessary?

I'm having another problem though. I installed piglet and I don't see it anywhere on my homescreen. I think a new program called Vita Homebrew Browser appeared but when I click it it just gives me an error and doesn't work.

Edit: Now retroarch won't even work. What happened?

Edit 2: I just deleted a bunch of files and reinstalled RA and it works now. So you were saying you can't have piglet installed the same time as RA? just curious but is piglet better than RA in general?

Is there a way to have both? I tried installing it but then it broke my other RA. From a prior post it looks like you can't install both?

Please tell me what this is and how to install it:

I don't understand what file from here I need. I don't see a vpk file.

I gave up on SNES for Vita. FF6, 7th Saga, bahamut lagoon, etc all had serious problems on all 4 snes forks.

Modded switch / Steamdeck is the way to go.

Also, don't discount the New 3ds SNES capabilities. It lacks emulator features but the emulation is really spot-on.

I have a new 3DS actually. I just personally find it to be a bit heavy and the form factor not as comfortable as the PSvita.

Here is the direct link to vpk:

https://github.com/SonicMastr/PIB-Configuration-Tool/releases/download/1.10/PIBConfig.vpk

You can only use one version of retroarch . . . . . . . . I honestly don’t understand why you want to use both:wacko:
Thanks. The reason why I might want both is maybe because the original RA might have features over the piglet version? I don't know if it does but that would be my guess. Is there anything the original version of RA has over the piglet one?

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
