Hacking Issues compiling source code

Hey guys, I'm trying to make some gui alterations to the source code for some of the GX emulators for a personal build. I cannot figure out how to get the code compiled and into a dol file. I downloaded devkitpro, and I am able to call "make" from a command prompt, but I get this error.

C:\Users\User\Desktop\fceugx-master>make
make -f Makefile.wii
make[1]: Entering directory '/home/User/Desktop/fceugx-master'
make[2]: *** /home/User: Is a directory. Stop.
make[1]: *** [Makefile.wii:117: build_wii] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory '/home/User/Desktop/fceugx-master'
make: *** [Makefile:8: wii] Error 2

C:\Users\User\Desktop\fceugx-master>\

As you can see from the directory, the source is in a folder on my desktop. I apologize for being really clueless as to how to get this work, but any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
