Hacking Issue with external hdd

Ok so here's my problem....

I'm a huge newbie to modding wiis, I dug out my old wii and put home brew on it. After a large trial and error, I got cfg loader to work from a forwarder from a sd card. I've been playing iso's from external hdd on slot 0. So now I want to connect said external hdd via a powered 4 port USB hub so it can also be used for watching movies on my tv, and run itunes, as well as play my games. When I use the hub the loader doesn't find the hdd. Please advise what I am doing wrong..

You can't use a USB hub for either Wii HDDs or for HID controllers with Nintendont. Homebrew doesn't have the code to recognize and use hubs.
