Hacking Is Yasu dead?

Title says it all.
Latest YSMenu was,what it seemed like, AGES ago.

Maybe this is another abandoned project?

God, I hope not. YSMenu is what has revived my R4, back from the dead.


Anyone know anything about this?

He is not dead no, he's very much alive but if I remember correctly he did quit YSMenu and Ashley left the unofficial dstt firmware so its is dead yes

I thought it was dead because Yasu was pissed because people were linking to the firmware without his permission or something like that. thats why he's not doing updates anymore

There's nothing wrong with Yasu, I bet he's just taking a break from all the work he's done for the scene and whatnot, everyone needs to rest once in a while.

Maybe he stopped working on YSMenu because it already does everything that it's supposed to? Remember that game fixes come from the DSTT firmware, not YSMenu.

I'm with this idea.

Well, apart from running simple NDS ROMs and using cheats, it has no real functions.
For instance, no text editor and not really graphically pretty.
I've yet to see some decent skins, y'know?

I can find lots of new tweaks it could use.

Yea, the skinning could be a lot nicer, I miss having the background change when you went in to folders, or changed months.

A text editor though? That's a neat idea, but I don't think it would ever be a really great one.

Reason being that it would be tertiary to ROM loading, and more suited for a Homebrew app dev. Some one who was only concerned about making a really good Text Editor, Rather than Yasu having to divide his time between the two.

I've yet to find a text editor that I thought was worth my time on the DS, and same with the PSP.
