According to the guide @ https://3ds.guide/ it's compatible. Just follow the instructions on the guide. I would check on the r4i-sdhc site to ensure you have an authentic r4 card.

Mine doesn't have an I next to to the r4 I'm guessing it's incompatible... Bummer

Or try 4.0 ds_ntrboot_flasher.nds on ndslite.

I confirm that r4 sdhc rts lite year 2014 is ntrboot compatible, though it will no longer be able to become back to ordinary flashcart.

I did as you said on the ds lite. Now when I insert the cart in the ds lite it freezes, and it doesn't show up on the 3ds

then test it with a magnet on an unhacked or a9 console containing the necessary safeb9 installer files, as in the 3ds guide:

I have the
R4i-B9S(R4 card supports B9S/3DS CFW)

Do I need the
boot9strap-1.3.zip
or
boot9strap-1.3-ntr.zip

I had to push realllllll hard. then it stayed.
Followed the Tutorial and it works
Made a couple of backups.. so I am save there I hope.

Don't think I need that R4 card in there anymore now correct?
Also, if there is a Nintendo FW update.. will it wipe everything I did?

Going to try converting 3DS to CIA with GM9 see how that goes.
Notice that the GM9 screen is really dark.. is there a way to make it brighter? if it boots in the normal screen, everything is bright.

After you install b9s you don't need the flashcart anymore, unless you want to use it for its original purpose. Future updates will be safe with cfw.

While you're in GM9, move the volumne slider up and down to control screen brightness.
