Is there any way to get data from a fully dead SD?

My Micro SD died a while back and it had all my saves in it. Is there anyway to get those saves or is it impossible?

PS - chkdsk g: /f doesnt work as well as trying to reformat it. It's COMPLETELY dead. But I found that this photo recovery worked but it could only recover pictures I guess.

If it is fragmented then you are in for a ride but you should be able to view it sector by sector from which you should then be able to reconstruct a save or three.
For the record most flashcarts use only a small fraction of the save allocated (r4 default saves are 512kbytes and less than 10 roms use that much space, most are 64kbytes but check according to your game).
HxD is a freeware hex editor with the capability for sector by sector reading.

Try a boot disk called "Active Data Recovery" - it worked wonders for me.
