Hacking Is my ps3 hackable/moddable?

It's a CECH-3001A (slim model) on FW 4.81.

From looking at the stickied thread, it appears it might be possible if I were on 4.82 but I'm a bit lost.

Sorry for the extra thread, but I'm just not sure if I should update or not, now that I've hooked this thing back up. If I'm on a special exploitable firmware, I kinda want to wait and see...

Run the lowest firmware tool and and go from there. Every PS3 can be modded to a degree.

You can use HEN exploit on your PS3, search for the HEN thread on PSX-Place, everything is explained in details there
