Hacking Is it possible to play PS1 games on PS3 cfw without BlueRay drive?

So my PS3 doesn't have a working BlueRay drive (I'm using Rebug with "emulated" drive), and I can't launch PS1 isos. Is there anyway to do so? I've tried some launchers but they all just "mount it" in the drive that doesn't exist and doesn't show up. (The black PS1 game icon doesn't show up etc.) I've tried webman, multiman etc.

I remember I use to convert the psx games into .pkg files and install them, but yeah you should be able to play them even without a functioning BR drive. If I recall the newer exploits can even run full ps3 games without a physical br drive or a disc to piggy back off of.

I know they can. PS3 games work just fine after I installed Rebug with disc drive emulation. But these PS1 games are really bothering me :/

I seem to recall multiman booting psx games as isos from the hdd/usb

Using multiman or webman you can mount PS1 iso files like you cab PS3 games. They should work fine without a working disc drive. I assume you're able to play PS3 games fine which if that's the case you should have no problem running PSx games.

From what i remember the ps1 games dont read from the br drive but from the dvd/cd drive.

Literally the same hardware..... ththe blu ray drives also support DVD/CD. As do all Blu-ray drives...

Yeah but the laser turns bluish purple when its in blueray mode,which doesnt happen when reading ps1 games.I took my ps3 apart one time for disk swaping burnt disks which still works So thats how i know.

Muiltiman can load PS1 roms/ISO's from the HDD.

PS3 is region locked for PS1 games (and PS2 games for BC models i think).

Guys I know PS3 and multiman can load PS1 games. The problem is mine can't. When multiman/webman loads it the black disc doesn't show up so I can't start the game. And it doesn't load into "app/ps3_game" or something like that
