I'm really wondering about this, but am I the only one to look at the 3DS and say "Oh, hey a PSP with new upgrades" instead of "Hey, a better DS" ?

Entry here and read the "FEATURES". Sony´s Fanboy without imagination

Eh, so much for wanting an honest answer in a Nintendo-based forum.
Eh, so much for a good OP that can actually give some examples on how he thinks the 3DS is anything like the PSP. You'll need to brush up on your debating skills, mate, you're telling us we're lying, while we're the only ones giving examples of how the 3DS is NOTHING LIKE a fucking PSP. You haven't said anything except that you think they look alike.

I think most people thought "oh, hey, a DSi with upgrades", really.

Its just you.

PSP is just home console experience downscaled and portable. Itself is nothing more than Sony's version of the GBA albeit with internet and media functions.
3DS offers developers to bring a different experience to what home consoles can offer. So yeah it is just a better DS, I don't see the 3D part bringing much to the gameplay.

If Sony are doing a PSP2 it'll either be the same thing but prettier or just do whatever Nintendo/Apple is doing with their portable devices. I don't think they should bother unless they have something really new.

I'm rethinking my answer. I think most people thought "ZOMG 3D
ohmy.gif
also hawt ladies BUT OMFG REAL 3D

"

If you think the 3DS looks like a PSP with added features, that must mean you believe it's the lack of processor power and a low resolution that makes the DS what it is; that the only thing making it a unique gaming platform was the fact it was outdated from the start.

Well I disagree.

Let's compare then:
Things in common with the psp that the old ds did not have.
-Widescreen
-One analog stick
(That's actually everything i can think.)

Things the two do not have in common.
3DS has
-Two screens
-Flip down top housing screen, cameras and speakers
-2 cameras to be used simultaneously to take 3D pictures
-1 front facing camera
-Ability to show true 3D and play 3D movies without the need for glasses.

well it is nothing like the PSP what are you on?
the graphics are probably slightly better though

Oh, hey, it's that fat little sony/PSP fanboy kid we saw on youtube!

so, what's the problem with that? 3DS is still a DS.
just like in programming:
CHILD CLASS (3DS) == [BASE CLASS (DS) + MORE FUNCTIONS/MEMBERS]

Nononono you're an idiot. That's a revision. This is a new generation (what is being called the DS 2)
