to put the acekard2i in a DSi 1.4 without updating even though I know it won't work? I'm scared then it gets bricked. Would it still work on my DS lite?

What's the worse that could happen? I did it and my Acekard 2i was fine but......you never know!

Some other guy was complaining that after he put it in his DSi 1.4 just to see that cool error that would pop up. It stopped working on his DS lite too.

It didn't cause me a problem, except I ended up keeping the wrong one and had to track down an NDS to update it

Nothing will happen. That guy was smoking something and stepped on his Acekard right after he took it out of his DSi.
