bit run? something alike? õ3o
funny that the "original resolution" is smaller than DSlite screen as I saw with my soulsilver some time ago o-o

Like the title says, can this be obtained by hacking or editing something like twl firm? I hate having to switch to my dsi xl for true widescreen

The top screen would just look awfully distorted.

that's because resolution and density (PPI, or DPI) are different things.. you can have a 4k screen in a huge billboard the size of an entire street block and it has the same resolution of my tv...
in a 3ds xl the 1:1 ds option is the same size as a ds lite or phat ds..
(i have a ds lite and a 3ds xl, i initially thought the 3ds was smaller but they are the same size)

A few minutes ago i asked in that thread (How to play nds in widescreen)
and Robz8 told me that is practically impossible because It requires reverse-engineering TWL_FIRM :'C

Okay, so what's the issue? Is anyone stopping you from reverse-engineering it?

its a matter of someone willing to put the (massive amount of) time and effort for what will only be one feature, where most people will demand they do it free no pay for the time they will haveto take out of thier life for a Large project.

unless a massive bounty is made for it, doubt any 3DS Scene dev with knowledge of how TWL_Firm Works (or any in the slightest idea of how it does) is going to just up n do it. and given the scene is beginning to "Shrink" , the chances are even smaller it's going to happen, it's been asked a few times in other threads and it's been answered in depth why it wont happen. there's also the idea doing this could potentially cause games to break, make things not load properly, break some flashcard compatibility/"Maybe" even mess with NDS-Bootstrap
