Hacking Is DLC Safe with Sky3DS?

Alright so I saw Monster Hunter 4 is coming out with some sweet new DLC (that is free) and I was wondering if its safe to get DLC for games that are obviously not legitimate. I know the Sky3DS allows safe online play and it lets you access the eShop. What I want to know is if it is safe to buy DLC for an illegitimate game.

TL;DR Hacked game/3DS ROM + purchased DLC from eShop = safe or not safe?

The only reason DLC would be unsafe is if it was unsafe to connect online at all.

Ah okay. I apologize for such a noob question but I wasn't sure if somehow Nintendo could detect it or some shit so I thought I would ask people who are more experienced. Thanks guys.
