i was wondering if there was a way or if anyone was working on a solution to use a newer controller on the old gamecube hardware, per example using a Game Switch PowerA controller and connected to a gamecube? of course there would be a piece of hardware (Bluethooth receiver).

This was accomplished with the original XBOX with an andruino board.

This is my first post and i am not sure i can link other sites. so i added a quick google keyword search below:

Simply google:
USE YOUR 360 CONTROLLERS ON THE ORIGINAL XBOX

I have not heard of anybody and I doubt anybody would announce it here (or possibly in general before a device was being sold or the project 90% of the way there/serious proof of concept).
I imagine most would probably look at the Wii and its GC backwards compatibility too (what with the Wii having bluetooth already there).

That said the modern bluetooth dev boards do seem to be somewhere around sane prices (back when I would have sooner took up high end FPGA design) so we might well be seeing things like this more in the future.

Mayflash Magic NS. They work wireless and wired with a ton of controllers. But I don't know about the controller you mentioned.

I've been using this for over a year works with my Dualshock 3s wirelessly. They're like $25 on Amazon.

Nevermind sorry I had in my mind you were posting this in Wii U section for some reason. So ignore what I said. I have no idea about on Gamecube but you could always buy a wavebird. Although they might not be cheap these days.

I, too, would love to see some kind of adapter dongle to use whatever controller we want with a GameCube. Just bought one of those $20 knockoff WaveBirds (GreatValueBird?) because I cant find the damn wireless adapter that goes with my original 'Bird. People want $35 for a dongle on Ebay that looks like it was a dog chew toy, so I figured I'd just give it a go.
