It's not so much about being a "special snowflake" more of just getting the best experience possible. Semi-tethered wouldn't bother me but as I have the option of enso I'd be daft not to use it.
No offense, but what? Especially for JRPG fans the Vita is maybe the best system since the PS2. Basically Falcom's entire current JRPG catalogue is on it with the best remastered versions of the Trails in the Sky games, Zero/Ao no Kiseki and Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2, as well as Ys Origin, Celceta and Ys VIII. Then there are masterpieces like Persona 4 Golden or Utawarerumono Mask of Deception/Truth. I counted 80+ JRPGs. Also great visual novels like Steins;Gate or Muv Luv as well as Danganronpa. The Vita is hands down the system with the best diversity and quality when it comes to its library.
True dat. I don't care for 99% of RPGs and JRPGs but Persona 4G is a stellar piece of work. Runs well and is such an involving game with a lovably crazy plot that you just can't wait to see where it goes next. Turn based RPGs reached a high watermark with this updated rerelease and both my Vitas have it.
Anyway... I have two Vitas and they're both on 3.60 at the moment with the enso coldboot hack. Other than PS Store access is it worth taking either one up to a more recent version? I'm sure there are advantages but I'm not sure they're advantages that'll do anything for me. PS4 Remote Play is still working great on 3.60 isn't it?
