IRC Confuses me :/

i downloaded this thing called IRC dont exactly know how to work it but am interested in learning, and info shall help

You can't download IRC, but you CAN download an IRC client, such as mIRC.

You probably downloaded mIRC which is an IRC client. Think of mIRC as the middle man, it contacts the server via the client.

Have you actually joined chat rooms or just connected to the server?

well i join a server, then i just click a random channel, and thats where no one talks

Try joining the GBAtemp IRC server/channel. There's usually someone chatting on there.

I had that problem with mIRC too. Use the guide BoxShot posted and you'll be fine.

i did exactly that and tryed to join gba temp server and it just says connect cancelled by itself and then repeats over and over again

Could you post a screenshot of your setup? (this being: the server, hostort, channel, etc)

ive tryed 2 ports, the one it says on the gba temp guide, and the default one
