Hardware IPS vs TN or CFW?

Doesn't appear anyone is still concerned with the difference.

Should I bother trying to find a IPS top screen or worry more about the fw version if I'm looking for 9.0 or 9.2?

Local gamestop has an unopened n3dsxl with serial # matching fw 9.0.

I asked like 30 sellers on ebay and found one, confirmed he had a red one with 9.0. Sniped the hell out of his auction and got it for $192 with a carrying case and 2 day priority shipping with insurance.
