Gaming iPod mic on pc

I have this awesome mic that came with my iPhone on the head phones.

How do i get it to work on the pc? with windows 7?

Buy an actual computer mic. That seems to work every time

AFAIK, there's no way to do this.

The earphone jack on a computer/laptop/monitor is pretty much a "Line Out" jack which sends the audio signal(s) out from the computer and to the earphones. In this case, there's no signal flow back into the computer (Mic's tend to plug in to Line In or Mic jacks)

I could be wrong, as I'm just pickin' this outta my ass.

yup, the pc's jacks are only single signals. whereas iphone earbuds have both line in and line out in one jack. if you have a mac it'll work (from memory the macs jack is both in/out) but you can buy a splitter that does two into one though. but you might as well grab a headset, heck i bought the one i use for $4

i have 3 jacks. 1 with a mic icon. and 2 for head hones... the iPod mic does not work with the mic one :

If you have a stero mic jack, it'll work (it'll interpret the earbuds as a second mic). However PC usually has only a mono mic jack, because the mic is almost always in mono.

I recommend what others have already said - get a seperate mic/headset. Or, you can do what my friend does - use a webcam mic to solve all your problems.

There is a simple adapter available at amazon.com here is the link to it:

Now I dont have this particular adapter and instead I got mine that came with a headset
from Target but it does the same thing.
