Iphone, Ipod, Ipad now support multitasking

and itunes 9.1 frees up some space on the ipod(Decompress' music to a smaller size, but jailbroken ipods allegedy can't sync)

Because the 8gb model is practically a rebranded 2nd gen model.

There is no 3rd gen 8gb iPod Touch. All 8gb models are 2nd gen. No multitasking for you! (Neither for me, as I have an iPod Touch 2nd Gen).

Really Apple, what a fail.
Aren't the MC models essentially "3rd gen" because they can't be jailbroken yet (on 3.1.3)?
My understanding was that they should be able to support this multitasking.
 
it would seem that Apple is now going to slowly and carefully update their systems to reach the public eye... i wouldnt be far until ppl really find something important since i think slower updates catch more ppl in a long time while quick huge updates catch less burst ppl but in amount of time
