While Apple may tinker with the final packaging and design of the final phone, it's clear that the features in this lost-and-found next-generation iPhone are drastically new and drastically different from what came before. Here's the detailed list of our findings:

What's new

• Front-facing video chat camera
• Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
• Camera flash
• Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
• Improved display. It's unclear if it's the 960x640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the "Connect to iTunes" screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
• What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
• Split buttons for volume
• Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic
What's changed

• The back is entirely flat, made of either glass (more likely) or ceramic or shiny plastic in order for the cell signal to poke through. Tapping on the back makes a more hollow and higher pitched sound compared to tapping on the glass on the front/screen, but that could just be the orientation of components inside making for a different sound
• An aluminum border going completely around the outside
• Slightly smaller screen than the 3GS (but seemingly higher resolution)
• Everything is more squared off
• 3 grams heavier
• 16% Larger battery
• Internals components are shrunken, miniaturized and reduced to make room for the larger battery

I'm definitely getting this. I've been siked about this phone for a little while now and this looks really nice. This could definitely trump the nexus one.

The iPod Touch 4G will probably come out in September like always. I think I will skip this one and get the 5G next year.

EDIT: I think I will skip the 5G as well and get a 3DS instead. I am currently pretty happy with my 2G that I just got like 5 months ago. So I will get the 6G.

mmm leeks.

The thing looks like a rectangular brick, I prefer the old curvy shape of the iPhones. However, no one can say no to those specs, especially the improved display.

Huh...

Well, I gotta say, I'm not digging the squareness. The sleek, curvy iPhone design is what sets it apart from the imitators. Now it just looks like a generic touch-screen phone, really.

But hopefully what they tinkered around to make it better than the 3G will make it worth it.

I'll wait till its cheaper (around $150 or so) and whenever someone makes a jailbreake for this. until that,I keep my 3G

I think I might actually get this phone. I like how it looks. Well, I'll get it once there's a hack for it.

The name of the guy who lost this thing has also apparently been published:

Honestly, that was probably the kindest thing they could've done for him. Now, if Apple were to make a scapegoat out of him for this, they'd just end up looking like bigger dicks. Part of the marketability of Apple is that they like to come across to people as relatable, and retain some illusion that they aren't another selfish company (when in fact they are). Firing him now would just screw them over.

I'm glad the airtight secrecy bullshit backfired on them this time... I was getting a bit tired of it, honestly. Their posing hipster technology isn't that good, that it needs to be guarded like a national secret.

On the plus side, at least this device seems more attractive than previous iPhones. I prefer the cleaner lines it has... still won't buy it, though.

I think I get another upgrade in the fall, not sure if it will be released in Canada or not though but if it is, I will sell my Touch 32GB and my current cell phone which is basically brand new (got it in September) in order to get a 32 or 64GB iPhone 4G. I owe it to myself to get a good cell phone and have been using second hand ones till my crappy little LG which is just on a calling plan.

Need major improvements before ill even consider upgrading my iPhone 3GS to this. Also it looks kinda... flat... like some sony erricsons which doesn't really appeal to me.

First Verdict: It doesn't look as Noob friendly as the previous one(3GS). It doesn't have those shiny looking screens.

And it's so much more thicker compared to the older ones.
But I think it's gonna have some nice Noob Un-friendly features.
