The video chat is stupid and a scam. You could buy phones that did video chat for years but Steve Jobs acts like he just now made it real.
To be fair, the iPhone's implementation is very nice (at least judging from the videos). I would go as far to say that they may have done it the "best".

Although I'll still probably never use it.

Looks a lot nicer than the other ones, but there's no reason to upgrade if you already have and iPhone.

Also, it's not worth switching to AT&T for this.

The videos Apple makes are always made to look better than they are. My iPod has never worked as good as the one in the videos, even when i first got it: applications take time to load, settings can be irritating to adjust, keyboard is annoying to use at first, etc. Apple focuses more on the product looking appealing than it working well.

Haha, you hit the nail on the head with that one.

Apple didn't make the video, it was a third-party hands-on done by Engadget.

And on your other point, pretty much every company doctors their advertisements to make the product look better than it is (probably most apparent is the food industry). This is common sense.

Instead of making an iphone yearly they should make one, every year and a half to show at least some results, apple with each release is not showing THAT much progress releasing yearly. APPLE ROCKS, But that YEARLY THEORY SUCKS!!!!
Uh, they've completely revamped the device with a new software revision (that contains major functionality additions), much faster processor, two new cameras, additional sensors, a ridiculously high-resolution panel, and a brand new (antennae enhancing) chassis on top of it all.

You're clearly an idiot.

iOS 4 is available for the 3G and 3Gs too.

New feature... Multitasking

People who jailbreak have had multitasking for ages. Just not as good.

Now my 1st gen iPod Touch (my most recent piece of appleware) looks like it came from the stone age... and to make matters worse, the iPod mini (1st gen) in my closet most likely came about because either Adam or Eve needed a music player @_@ *sob* I want one of those new-fangled iPhone things!!
