those are some awesome features. hands down if this was on e3... best conference ever

ofcourse macbook cannot be used for high end games due to lacking good graphics card and games AND there seems to be a kind of exaggeration and pride in the way they are presenting. eg. Safari - the most popular browser ... ya right
and also, comparing the android in a very demeaning way. At least i think they are doing so. they are good no doubt esp with the features they are mentioning on ios6 at the moment.

they do fudge with the numbers.

bu... but the new maps! i saw this rumored long ago and never imagined it would happen. i guess they are trying to part with google as much as possible.

but seriously that's insane that they would rebuild all maps and then do flyover. how long has this been going on i wonder. now we got google plus apple peeping into our windows.

Not that amazed by the screen res.

Not that amazed by the screen res. it's insanely high res but I'm getting sick of Apple's "Retina" buzzword.
As for the flash memory: That shit's going to be either slow or expensive. Yay for making Apple laptops even more stupidly priced! I know they're priced for their hardware but they really miss out on a huge portion of the market by having their base laptop priced around £1000

what? the flash memory will make it faster than hdd.
i believe they'll still have the older models as base.
Note that I said "Slow or expensive". A good sized SSD is going to set you back a lot in building a computer. A quick google shows that the 512GB ones reach well into the hundreds. Another form of flash memory such as a USB memory stick, however, is very cheap.
It'll be fast, I just don't see that speed being worth the price you'll pay.

Honestly, you'd think they'd get this right after so many years of "impressing" people.

It's a really good notebook for sure, but:
- I doubt the 560m can handle games at "retina resolution" at decent FPS... and as the Apple guy said himself, lower resolutions look a bit pixelated. So it's not a good notebook to play games...
- The base 2300€ model has just 256 GB of memory, and you can't add a larger hdd instead of the optical drive because... it has no optical drive. So you have to get at least the 512 GB version... you could say "you can always use an USB3 HDD" but that defeats the "ultraportable" concept of this notebook...

I'm somewhat bittersweet about iOS6, as far as feature-wise. The new Maps App was a step up from the Google powered one currently, someone on the stream I was watching said that they assumed Apple couldn't go into too much FB integration due to the team-up they have with Microsoft, but Microsoft is also integrated with Twitter, so I'm not really sure that is the case. Speaking of integration, I wish that they got a little more creative and a little more widespread with the apps and companies, like Instagram, Pandora, and other really popular apps.

I'm not really a Mac OS person, but from what I saw, the new Macbooks look impressive, I would get one if I had the money.

ok a mistake on my side lol. its more correct to say there arent many games for it. is it the OS? i dont see too many ppl play games on mac probably cuz its not made for games but rather for design, multimedia and usability. windows is more dynamic in these areas (multi-purpose?)

but yes, it is good

No man. The Macs got power. It's just Microsoft was too powerful at the Macs time, and now no one sees the Macs ability. *sigh*

The MBP with the retina display is SGD 2,988 before any student promos.

Gotta get the older and fatter version.
