Has anyone ever seen one of these before? It’s a fan speed switch mod I found in a CECHA01 I’m gonna hack. Whoever put it in did a superbly horrible job replacing the thermal paste and didn’t know what screws went back in where (for the ones that weren’t missing).
I’m wondering if I should just pull it off or leave it as is. It just runs the fan at a higher speed rather than climbing up through the speeds as it needs it. The console needs more air it will speed up, it just sets the minimum speed much higher.
So after putting Rebug & Multiman on it, I’ve found the CPU and RSX are constantly running about 10 degrees C cooler than they normally do. I’m used to seeing A01 consoles running around mid 60’s to 70’s and I haven’t seen these north of mid 50’s yet.
