I agree about might and magic, it's a surprisingly good game but I'll take the "classic RPG PC style" might and magic over "stacking soldiers on top of them" might and magic, any day

but still...one to try out I guess...

Whenever someone does a topic like these im always inputting the same 2 games that most people overlook but i really do recommend playing both

Disgaea and Valkyrie Profiles: Convenant of the plume

both are tactical rpg's but both have superb stories and great replay value! dont read the reviews of either just play them and im sure you'll like them!
