Installing wads on a full system menu

I was wondering what would happen if I install a channel on a Wii system menu with open blocks but with all 48 slots full. Will it do nothing? Will it let me to move the new channel to the SD cards from data management even though it isn't shown on the menu? Will that brick my Wii?

Maybe the installer could give an error during the installation but idk. Or you will simply receive a message in the menu saying that you need to free up space.
