I'm trying to help one of my friends install homebrew on his 3.4 wii and this message keeps stopping us from progressing

exception 0300 has occurred..............

it happens after he talks to the guy/walks backwards

any help on what we could be doing wrong?

do you have the boot.dol of homebrew channel on the root of your sd card?

also your wii is supposed to "crash", then go into the HBC installer.

the modded save game file causes a buffer overflow, which then allows you to run a boot.dol off of your sd card. this is where you need the HBC boot.dol...

Again... do you have the boot.dol in the root of your SD card?

There is also a chance that file was corrupted and you may want to redownload it.

you renamed what ? it is already named as boot.dol in the HBC package

read the README included with the twilight hack, it explains everything you need to know
the bin file is a modified save for Zelda TP, hence the name of the hack: you must copy it into a specifc location on a SDCARD first and you must pick a specific version depending on your game version

it's named the_homebrew_channel-1.0.1.tar-3 when I DL'd it

edit: nvm I think my friend figured it out
You need to unpack that file and you'll find the boot.dol inside.
(I use winrar, works fine for .gz files as well)
