Please excuse the noob question, but is there a way to open .elf files without the Twilight Hack? I want too use the WAD Installer, but it has a .elf file and I don't have a copy of Zelda...

hope you can help.

Well without Zelda you cannot boot any elf files.
But if you got a modchip then you could just download a copy of the game.

You could also try to borrow a copy and install the WAD installer and the Homebrew channel

Ok, Ill try and pick up a copy.

Now just to be sure, do I use the twilight hack, boot up the .elf file of the WAD Installer, then that allows me to install homebrew and possibly Wiiware (heh)?

Uhm not exactly.

There is an .elf that installs WAD's (You can get it in the common downloads sticki thread here in the Wii hacking forum). Then you just have your Wiiware WAD in a folder in your SD cards root called wad and then you just need to launch the Twilight hack and follow the on screen intructions and you will have your Wiiware game in a few minnuts

Yes, thats all you need to do. Of course if you have the WAD Installer Channel.

..yeah thats what I meant, regarding the SD Card, jsut didn't go into detail.

Thanks though xD

Oh and can Nintendo detect and possibly brick/prevent my suystem going online if they find out Im using downloaded WiiWare? Will my console get bricked/affected negatively?

XD

...annndddd do I have to keep the WADS of the homebrew/Wiiware on my SD Card or will the installer fully install and KEEP the file on my Wii?

Sorry but if i have well understood :

- i run my zelda twilight;
- i run the homebrew "wad installer";
- now i'll have a "wad channel";
- i copy the wad on my sd card and can play with them through the wad channel?

Am i right? Sorry for my ignorance.

-> now you can install the games via the wad channel, without running zelda

Thanx a lot! And could you tell me what's the difference between wad-installer and "wad-installer channel"?
If i use the homebrew "wad installer", what's the point to ue "wad-installer channel"?
I don't really see the difference.
Thanx again!

It's very easy.
If you use the wad installer, you have to launch zelda for every installation.
But if you use the wad installer channel, you can install a wad easily via the wii main menu without zelda

.wad Installer needs to be run through Zelda each time you want a new .wad.
.wad Installer Channel lets you install new .wad's without Zelda.

So if i have understood i have bette interest in using wad installer channel than wad installer?

I only have to use zelda once, run the homebrew "wad installer channel", and that's done? Right?

Excuse me again, i don't really want to sound anoying, simply afraid to make a mistake!

Thanx!
