PS1/2 Install Homebrew/FreeMCBoot in PS2

Hello.
I'm beginner and I need your help.

I have p2 slim and I have put modchip (matrix). I want to hack my ps2 softmod so that to play PS One and PS2 at external hard drive. How can I do that?

My PlayStation 2:
Console: SCPH-70003
Browser: 1.40
CD Player: 2.00
PlayStation Driver: 1.11
DVD Player: 3.10E

Can you tell me step by step?
Plz help me

You have a modchip, ergo burned DVD's/CD's should work just fine. Follow this guide: http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials/fmcb/disc.php and you should be good to go.

Also, What is uLaunchELF? I read difference forums and it's mention uLaunchELF.
First all, How to install Free McBoot?
Second, What is uLaunchELF and how to install that?

PS2 games from USB don't work very well (I read only about 70% work and there are a lot of issues with lag because the USB 1.1 in the PS2 is too slow), PS1 I don't think is possible, I might be wrong there though.

If you install FMCB, uLaunchELF should be included with it. It's simply a homebrew launcher.

The Real Jdbye is correct, USB 1.1 sucks, Ethernet is the preferred method of launching non-disc based backups. As fro ULaunchELF, it's a file manager included with the FreeMCBoot package. Just burn the disc like the guide tells you to, shove it into your system and it should boot like a normal game.

A modchip shouldn't have much effect on homebrew. Besides stuff like the ability to run programs from burned discs, or forcing the optical drive to allow direct installs of imports and backups to a hard drive (without needing a slide card etc).
