You need a homebrew-enabled PSP to make the magic memory stick. So, unless one of your friends has a CFW on their PSP, you are screwed.

Datel's Max Power TOOL is a complete ripoff.

There was a web site called pspslimhacks that had a tut on how to make a magic memory stick just using a pc. but the site was moving to a new server so it's down....

I have a CFW PSP 1000 and a standard PSP Slim. Could you tell me where I can learn about this magic memory card thing? I'm a newb to the PSP modding scene, Many thanks.

The ReadMe included in the Pandora's Battery package should be able to guide you through the process of making a Jigkick Battery + magic memory stick, and this site has a nice guide on installing 3.60 M33 on a PSP Slim.
