And yet we don't spoiler alert that Aerith dies, that Mario rescues Peach, that Link wins (unless you believe that bullshit timeline in the Historia) and that Samus is a girl. I can see what you're getting at but the rules seem a little unclear.

They are. That is what makes it so confusing. ;-)

I thought it was pretty popular in reception and it feels fairly well known

^This. Especially around here. Back when the DS was king of the hill and this place was all about hacking the AP out of the latest Pokemon sequels, pretty much everyone who had a DS and a flash card had TWEWY. It was consistently high on recommendations lists, etc.

I know he did this for the wrong reasons but Tellah from FF4. He didn't have the strength to cast Meteo but he literally sacrificed his life to avenge his daughter and pretty much wrecked Golbvez/Zemus' shit with it, but unfortunately it wasn't enough. His ghost later appeared and gave you power right before the final boss and while I know this isn't exactly a great example, that old fart had BALLS. Golbez at that point was this unstoppable demigod with ridiculous power and old man Tellah was the only one who was able to hurt him before he died.

edit: I haven't played TWEWY yet and I didn't read whatever spoiler was posted thankfully. I just hate touch controls but I should probably give it a chance via emulation.
