Lately I noticed that my (original) power supply makes a buzz noise even when the Wii is turned off.
It is a noise similar to the one that the console DVD drive makes when I turn it on (a little less loud maybe) except that the noise from the power supply never stops.
I don't remember if it is normal or not, it is more than two years since the last time I played with my Wii and I don't even know if I noticed it or not back then.
Is it ok that the power supply makes this noise?
Should I worry about it or not?
I hjope someone can help me, many thanks.

Is it a third party supply by any chance?

Anyway yes transformers quite often have a bit of a hum (if you are in a 50Hz power region then* or 60Hz then**. At the same time there are failure modes associated with power supplies that will see various noises emitted, and while not quite failure I have seen things age into it.

Afraid I have not seen any tests across a range of wii power supplies to see what goes.

*said 50Hz sine wave

**60Hz sine wave example
