So, maybe 2 out of 5 boot attempts for a gamecube game, the game will load and play just fine. It just seems to me that the game should boot every time on the same settings. Is this normal for dios mios? Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm running dios mios 2.0 on IOS 249 (Yes, I updated all of my cIOS's)
using USB Loader GX rev 1193
I've also tried with/without disc in drive. Same thing.

Thanks.

If it's staying on a black screen before the DIOS MIOS logo, then it's a HDD initialization problem.
Your HDD doesn't send the correct information all of the time.

Do you, by chance, have a seagate HDD?

Sometime, DIOS MIOS is shutting down the Wii, that's another problem due to DM itself.

Edit:
When it's staying on a blackscreen before the DM SplashScreen, you can try to disconnect/reconnect the HDD, it will resend the HDD informations and with some chance the correct one.

How long did you wait for DIOS-MIOS to come up? Sometimes it can take a couple minutes to init the HDD.

Good news everyone.
I updated to dios mios 2.3
I update to rev 1202 of USB Loader Gx
I am now using a boot.elf and booting the app from homebrew, rather than using a boot.dol and running the app from the channel forwarder

And it seems to be working flawlessly.
Thanks!
