Hacking IMPORTANT Real or fake R4DS?

I ordered an R4 DS from www.gamebay.com, & it looks good, i checked it out a bit. I cant have it 'til Christmas, but i wanted firmware ready for it. Is this R4DS real or fake? If it is a clone, i dont know much about it, please tell me what firmware i need for it. I have 1.18 kernel ready for it on my pc.

Yes that is a real R4DS.
That is the 2nd version of it that came out before the R4 team died.

Dudes, just because its a real r4 on the site doesnt mean you will receive a real r4... and why the hell did you buy an r4 anyway.

1. I got R4 because i heard that N5 & G6 either 1)Messed up your ds console, or 2) messed itself up with the actual cartridge or where micro sd card inserts. Dont criticize me if im wrong, thats just the info i found. Also R4 was cheaper.

2. Everything shown in the pics was in the package, i just didnt know they had a Volume 2, i thought every real version had a white cartridge.

Thanks, so v.1.18 should work on it, right? If firmware works on r4 from n5 or g6, please tell me what firmware to get if any have more compatibility than the R4 firmware.

*EDIT* Looked, & i don't see any N5 or G6 firmware that has more compatibility that can be patched for R4, so is there any easy or average way to add game compatibility to DS_MENU? I know a bit about hex editors if that is needed.

You should've gotten an Acekard2, since the R4 is dead.
And I haven't heard of a volume 2 R4
