Ok well I had homebrew channel on my wii and some virtual console games on my wii. I decided to do the latest system update and not too sure how long ago it was released. Haven't played the wii in a long time actually. So I updated and I couldn't do anything with HBC any longer. So I decided to format the memory thinking it would go to factory settings......it did but still version 4.0 : / So I'm assuming I'm screwed until someone figures something out? Sorry couldn't really find anything in any other thread. Or is there another way to format the memory?

My answer is yes. Without the Homebrew Channel on 4.0 firmware, you can't do anything anymore until someone releases a new hack. Also, if you think someone released a new hack, confirm with the community. You may get a scam or a fake. As far as formatting to change your version, I really doubt that there is a way.
