Hacking I'm having some problems with the Gamecube backup loader...

I have burned a multi iso disc, and a disc with only one iso on it, but neither one have worked. Whenever the loader boots up, it will take a few seconds, then my Wii will click off and reboot.

I'm using Memorex DVD+R, and I haven't set the booktype to DVDROM because I don't think my burner can do so, as it likes to automatically set the booktype. (Pioneer DVR 116D)

And, I'm not sure if it should be like this or not, but whenever I open the backup loader, even if there is no disc in the Wii, there is no text in the bottom right corner (like press a for x, press b for y, etc). Should there be, or do I not have the loader installed properly?

Chances are the DVD+R's won't work if you can't change the booktype. And if you don't think the loader is working in the first place, reinstall the patched MIOS.

How do I do that if I don't have an internet connection?

Would I not need to do that if the backup loader gamma works perfectly?

Look, you need the patched MIOS for it to work. Simple as that. By the sound of things you haven't even installed it, so no wonder GCN games aren't working. >_>

You don't need WiFi to install it either. Download the following files and put them in the following directory in the root of your SD Card: 00000001/00000101/v8/

Then choose V8 when installing the patched MIOS. Press X before doing it as well so GCN stuff will run in the Gamma Launcher.
