Limewire is open source. Frostwire couldn't exist if it wasn't.

Good luck porting Java to the DS if you want to run either though.

The biggest issue with something like this is that it's not like a computer where you can leave it running in the background while you use your DS. Each user would have to leave their DS running the program all the time.

Unless the download speeds in the DS is maximized, I don't think it will work out. The current homebrew speeds are too slow to be practical to download stuff that are in the megabytes.

Still though, it would be pretty useful for downloading light-weight stuff, like skins.

man what is it with you people and filesharing on the ds? just the other day some other guy suggested a torrent program for the ds

ok to fix this whole argument, i wasn't really thinking properly, a file sharing program for the ds would only be great for maybe saves or something (low-"light weight" data) What I meant was for like a program that goes straight to a site where you can download mp3's and maybe 15 sec .dpg clips. basically it is like the homebrew database created by dragonminded, but it is for multimedia. That's what I meant...

not really sure if it'd be that useless to deserve your blunt remarks but meh it is an idea. however i think this now goes into the direction of the nnintendo ds acting more like a cellphone with online databases allowing you to download music clips and video clips.

a nice idea yes, but i dont think it'll ever happen. i have a legit nintendo ds browser and man the loading times on it are killer x.x maybe we can bring this up again when the next ds comes out

You could easily make a new database for DSO that connected to a different server and downloaded files. Somebody just has to make one

If you didn't want to be criticized, you shouldn't have posted.

If I had a server still, I would make one for DSO...I still will if somebody with a server wants to help....

anyone here who wants to give me the hbdb server files or everyone forgot this post

1. Terrible idea (sorry but limewire is the scum of filesharing programs)
2. No-ones going to develop it
3. Don't bump threads people!!!
