Gaming I need your guys help

So, I am starting a new black metal project and I have no way of recording my drums so my friend is letting me borrow his Rock Band drums to hook up to my computer and record with.

He told me, he used a program were you could program the drums and such and play just like a regular drumset. He can't remember the program though, can you guys help me out with finding one? I need one that has real sounding drums and free (or shareware but I am looking for free mostly)

If you guys could help me that would be great.

If the drums work through a MIDI interface, then any software should support them because that's the standard.

I wouldn't know because I don't play those games.

Damn, thanks for the reply though. I'll check out a MIDI program thing

Looking for more suggestions though
