I prefer to use good old tables for keeping images and text in line though.

The li tag was the first solution someone told me. I'll give tables a shot though too

The problem with using <li> is that the styling will be applied to each individual item, which is possibly why it's going out of alignment. Table columns expand to fill the widest object within them, so will always be aligned.

Ah I ran it and it does indeed do what I want. I will Fiddle with it. However it only does what I want when I click on it. Is there a way to make it drop down via hovering over it?

Just be aware that menus and things which rely on hovering might not work well in touch interfaces such as phones and tablets. It depends how the mobile browser handles hover. Some detect the first touch as hover and the second touch as click, but some detect the first touch as click. In the latter case, the user will not be able to use the features which require hover detection.
