Hardware i need help with this r4 update

so i have a 3ds the version on it is 4.2.0-9u and i have this r4 3ds the problem is i cant seem to be able to play it it has me frustrated because ive downloaded the latest kernnel and tried upgading it with an oldschool ds but when i click the upgrade button it does not allow me to start the upgrade so if anyone can help i will really appreciate it......

What exactly happens when you hit upgrade?

it goes to the upgrade screen but it only shows back (touch option on screen) it doesn not show the start (touch option) so basically i cant start the upgrade without it

Maybe you can try to format your card and then put the kernel into it and update. Last time my r4 broke I tried this and it worked, maybe you should take a try but I can not guarantee that it can works in your case.

It was formatted then kernnel was installed
