Yes you are. Guides EVERYWHERE warn about installing 4.x MSET on a 2DS then reformatting the NAND.

With that said, you have 2 options.

    1) If you have a nand backup, you can hard-mod and flash it back.

    2) Force it to power off, reboot into safe mode, and upgrade via the internet (you will go all the way to the latest firmware).

When I try to upgrade via the internet, it shows a message:

    An error has ocurred.
    Unable to update.

    The system will
    now turn off.

    Sucks to hear that. :/
There is at least a small workaround for this softbrick: you can still play carts.

    From 3dbrew:
You just hold that key combo when powering on.

Thanks. So, there are no more options? I don't have a nand backup, the guide I read didn't warn about a soft-brick.

Just one question: Can I use Gateway or Sky3ds for booting the emuNAND?

Can I flash a emuNAND backup or it has to be a sysNAND backup?

If you do this with a game inserted that has an update > 9.2 will it ask to update? Im thinking whether this can fix the semi-brick?

Unfortunately, if the game has a higher than system firm update, the 3ds will just turn off. Forgot to mention that.

It might be possible to code something in a cubic ninja save to fix the setup flag in the config file. maybe.

When I try to use Internet, this happens:

    IMG_20160105_202754460_HDR[1].jpg

But, if I use the 2DS camera it works:

    IMG_20160105_203425655[1].jpg

So, It's possible to use Ninjhax and boot the emuNAND?

Can't run any of the hax when system is not set up. It will only crash.

Also if you have tubehax dns enabled then it will prevent you from updating, of course.
Does recovery more allow you to access network settings? could go remove the tubehax dns and update to 10.3 at least.
Do it while you still can because as soon as 10.4 or whatever is pushed, you wouldnt be able to downgrade back to 9.2

I mean, if you have a nand backup then you can restore it with a hardmod at any point no matter what. Even if they released 10.4 and you ended up being stuck, or if you updated to 10.3 and bricked trying to downgrade, if you got nand backup you would be able to restore it.

But updating to 10.3 and downgrading back to 9.2 might be your only solution if you want to avoid having to hardmod.

But... How can I upgrade? When I try it, as I said, there is a message error.

EDIT: I can access to the Connection Settings

I told you, if you have tubehax dns it would block update servers.
If you can get into network settings and remove the tubehax dns that should work.

If you still can't update, it's most likely an error with your network. :/

Well there you go. Hard to update if you aren't connected to the internet.

Again, you would have had to kept an original backup , OR have an emunand that was only ever updated via internet. A never updated (freshly formatted) emunand is an exact copy of your sysnand. BUT if you ever installed a firmware update to your emunand with a cart, rom, or cia files, then your native_firm is toast and you would have a black screen brick if you flashed it to sysnand. If your emunand was updated via internet (through system settings, not from a prompt that says an update is available), you don't have that problem, and yes, you can flash that to sysnand.

BUT... this brings me right back around to my original concern. Every guide I have read has said to backup your sysnand, then save a copy of everything on your SD card at that point to a PC, BEFORE you ever formatted the emunand for the first time. If you did that, you'd have a sysnand backup. Why didn't you? You can NOT flash an emunand from another system into your own system. Not without modifications that you are unable to do at this point (you need to have a nand.fat16.xorpad for both your 3ds, and the donor 3ds (and they must be the same type of 3ds model (as in o3ds, n3ds, 2ds).

At this point, it wouldn't hurt to try, but I seriously doubt it. If you could possibly launch the HBL via Cubic Ninja (which... you would have to already have set up, since you can't get on the internet with it) then you could work around this, especially now that you can launch the Gateway menu with a 3DSX file from HBL. Again, I really doubt it though :(. The exploits rely on things that simply aren't loaded in safe mode.

Yes. Updating through system settings doesn't seem to have the problem with jacking up the native_firm.
