Lali ho!
Life's been pretty sweet to me today. Here's a short list of reasons why.
- Bought FF9 off PSN and aside from a lack of music in the intro cutscene, it seems to be unaffected by my custom firmware. Hopefully there are no issues later on, and the lack of sound only affects that one scene. I've also downloaded it to my PS3 anyway, which works perfectly, so I have a backup if my PSP version should ever go screwy. Seems the music problem is endemic to having hacked firmware, I guess I'll have to get by without it. Thankfully this is from the era where all FMV's contained was music and plot, no actual speech as far as I recall. Aside from end sequences, which all had subtitles anyway. So the lack of sound is a minor inconvenience at best. Plus I can always just watch the cutscenes on the PS3 or even on Youtube. This'll certainly be adequate until I can acquire the actual disks.
- Bought FF8 off eBay, boxed with manual in great condition, £10.51 total. Not a bad deal, I reckon. Granted, it probably won't arrive for a week, but whatever. Worth the wait since I can play it any time, either through my PSP if I choose to rip it or via my PS2, which the old man cannot stop me using as unlike the PS3, the PS2 belongs to me. As does the telly it's connected to. So he can't do a damn thing.
- I have chocolate muffins. They're yummy.
- I have enough change from my FF purchases to go get more muffins in the morning. They will also be yummy.
- Things with Jess are going extremely well. She's very yummy.
Don't read too much into that...
- Had a little humour earlier. Downloaded a PS3 theme for my older brother, the Doctor Who obsessed geek who owns over a hundred toy Daleks at the age of 36. It's a theme of new assistant Amy Pond, played of course by Karen Gillian
. With her tits out.
Nothing hardcore, just page 3 style stuff, probably photoshopped but whatever.
.....
At least that's what it was on the preview image when I downloaded it....
Turns out the images are a little more....extreme. IE: inserting various metal cylinders into various holes.
I seriously had no idea. But damn the look on his face when he installed it to see what it was like was hilarious. Switches themes expecting at best to see a Sun page 3 photo of Amy Pond and instead he gets a shot of her...ramming things in places.
By means of apology I've added a slightly more child friendly Doctor Who theme and a Reading FC theme (it's our home town).
- I have, as the title may have given away, the new A Team movie. Granted, I have it on my DS so it's not the best way to watch it, but it's a fantastic quality rip and it only takes up about 290MB, so well worth keeping around. Pretty kick-ass flick as well. Seriously, if you have a DS flash card, check it out. Well worth a watch.
- My old man bought an ebook reader and a set of dvds off eBay containing 24,000 ebook files. So he's out of my hair for quite a while. And he doesn't dare frustrate me as nobody else in the house can work the ebook reader, so he's well aware that if he pisses me off I won't help him and he won't have anything to read. Nice to have a few cards on my side for a change.
- The job hunt continues to perk up, more and more vacancies becoming apparant, better pay, better jobs overall. And the more jobs I spot, the more I'm inspired to keep going because things don't look as hopeless any more, which in turn increases my confidence and thus increases my chances of success in the interviews. It's a slow process still, but there's light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully this time it's not a train...
- My birthday is coming up soon (August 18th) and for once I'll actually have somewhere to be and someone to share it with. Well, that's not really true, last year Jenny and me went out for dinner and drinks for my birthday. But unfortunately despite us then taking the first steps towards a relationship with a goodnight kiss, she turned into a psycho hose beast shortly afterwards and went running scared back to the shit-stained comfort blanket of her ex. Oh well, her loss. But I have Jess this year. She's not mental. Well again that's not really true, but she's that nice kind of mental which makes us run out in the rain and frollic, instead of the come home from interview to find her setting fire to the cat sort of mental.
Yeah, life's going pretty well. Every day when I spot another potential job my confidence grows a little more and that can only lead to good things. Plus now if all else fails I have FF8 and 9 at my disposal to kill the bad vibes. Now I'm gonna go eat muffins.
