Can anyone confirm this is the real deal and not some shabby beta??

Doesn't need confirming. Beta wouldn't be signed , no signature = no playing on retail xbox.

Good, but very easy ... loads of 'tiny' achievements, too ...

Every time you get a new skill, for example, you gain an achievement after using the skill for the first time ...

Well thats good. I hate games that make you jump through 100 hoops on hard mode to get a stinking 10 point achievement lol

Nope, there's 60 different achievements for this, most of them small. The first 10 or so are for learning new skills. There's one for each weapon... As in you have to beat the entire game only using that weapon. Also, there's 5 difficulties, and an achievement for each one of them (I think only ten points for those achievements). Basically you need way too much time on your hands to 100% this game

I'm definitely gonna have to pick this game up

Does the story follow on directly from the previous Ninja Gaiden, or can a first timer pick this up and understand the story?

The DS game is the direct sequel to the original. This takes place somewhere after the DS game I think.

Wish I could play this. I beat the first one on normal mode. What a hard game.
