Emulation I finally did it!

Yep...as of this afternoon I am now the proud owner of:

- AceKardi
- Kingston MicroSD TransFlash 2GB memory card
- Micro SD/TF Card REader 16 GB max

And ALL because of the help I have received here. (Well, that and my wife, without whom I wouldnt know a 'PayPal' from a platypus..) There are two members that I'd like to tip my hat and my glass to, but not sure if I should call them out here in this post, though they both KNOW who they are. (I know that this is a very 'grey area' hobby/interest, so I won't mention them by name...)

Thanks a MILLION times over guys, for your tutelage and your instruction, but mostly for walking a 36 year old luddite through the modern technology jungle of emulation.

So at this point I'd be wanting any and all opinions on how YOU guys and girls do things....that is to say, which PRODUCTS do you prefer? Which SITES suit your needs best? (still talking EMULATION here...dont be telling me to visit "busty black mamas.com" ....

) What tips/tricks/helpful information have YOU all learned through trial and error? Basically, even though I'm a married 36 year old man thats a college graduate and is 6'7", 360 lbs, I need YOU younger guys and gals to shine the light on these things for me. Cause lets face it, like I told someone a few minutes ago, when I was a kid/teenager, Atari 2600 and NES were the cream of the crop, and the things that many of YOU guys see as "no big deal" and "easy, DUH, didnt ya know?" are VERY foreign to me, almost sci-fi like. Do you KNOW what its like to be able to GET games like Chrono Trigger and certain RARE TurboGrafx and Atari 2600 games at the press of a BUTTON? Let me tell you, for THIS "old caveman" its blowing my friggin mind.....

*EDIT* Of course I OWN said games, but they are mint SEALED and I'm needing these for back-ups.......................

I'm stuck with R4 and anyway why do you need more than 1 flashcart.

Yup, pretty cool when you see all the things the DS can emulate. I also grew up in the days of quarter arcades, atari 2600, and NES, so having these games portable is amazing to me as well.

Ive been tinkering around with flashcards for a few years now, and theres quite a few decent emulators that the DS will run, like atari2600, Colecovision, NES, GBC, Genesis, NeoGeo, TurboGrafx, MarcaDS(arcade), SCUMMvm(point n click games), etc.

Some of my homebrew personal favs are Moonshell2(movies, music, pics), Colors(drawing), ClIRC(irc chat), ComicBookDS, and so on.

you can even run some ports (albeit sometimes buggy/unfinished) of old PC games like Wolfenstein, Doom, Hexen, Descent, ROTT, Duke3d, and even Quake...

theres a lot more stuff out there and youll have to dive in and look around a bit. Most of the stuff i mentioned can be found at GBAtemps own Filetrip.
