Hacking I can't really decide...

I can't really decide on which flash cart to buy. Everytime I look at a flash cart, I read through the features and when they suit my needs and if the reviews are good, I consider them. There's just too many. For example, one of my topics is about how good is the CycloDS. A lot of people wrote back with positive feedback and "if I get it, I would never look back". But I read somewhere that it will only accept certain cards and these class-4 thingies that I don't even have an idea what's it about...

Another example is the R4. A lot of my mates have it and we did some things like download play, testing benchmark games like Castlevania: PoR (which works fine in a 1GB Sandisk card that my mate has), WFC connection and other stuff. The "drawback" that I came at is that it's not SDHC compatible, meaning it can only handle a maximum of 2GB (which sucks if you want a lot of games in your pocket...)

I want a flash cart that:

- plays all ROMS without a hassle
- compatible with ANY microSD regardless of the brand and that class jargon
- play Download Play and Wi-Fi (and possibly Wii DS)
- is not buggy

I don't care about the price, my concern is the quality...

For some people, I know I'm being redundant. I'm just "lost" right now. Can't decide.

Yes go with the cyclo. Who ever told you the cyclo can only take xx amount of GB and no less than an x rated class SDcard is a liar and doesn't know what they are talking about.

If price is no factor for you and you want a HCSD capability, then by all means get a Cyclo.

I started my flashcart life with an R4 and had tons of problems. I now have 3 Cyclos and am SOOOOO glad I switched. I run 4gb and 8gb microsdhc in my Cyclos and NEVER had ANY problems. I love them!

CycloDS Evolution. The R4 needed patching/updates for FF:CCROF and TWEWY. The CycloDS ran it no problems. It's also compatible with ANY microSD. Whoever told you otherwise needs to get his facts straight.

The CycloDS is one f the flashcards on the market right now and fits your criteria perfectly but it is a bit on the expensive side. Though at least the developers behind it actually listen to you. They have their own forums you can go for help, submit bug reports, feature requests and so on. I also like how they made available beta versions of their firmware to test out the new bug fixes/features early.

There are no cards that cant handle a certain kind of micro sd.

Also, if you want something cheap, then Acekard 2.

If you can spend a lot, then CycloDS.

For me, i prefer the Supercard DS1, it has a lot of features and I had no problems with it so far. Also its much cheaper than the cyclo. ^^

I Agree it has the features like rts etc but with a gui that lets it down.
Btw, does the SCDS1 support wii connection with the ds?

I have an Integral 1 GB card which is slower than a 1GB Sandisk I had in the past. Will it work flawlessly? Will there be any problems with games like Castlevania: PoR?

Yea Thats WAAAAAY outdated. In that review the supercard ds one v1 was the version reviewed, since then the Supercard ds one has had alot of changes in firmware and hardware. The sdhc version (v3) is the latest atm.

The R4 didn't go through any drastic changes with its firmware and hardware, so it doesn't deserve a review to be redone. On the other side the SCDS1 has gone through MAJOR changes in hardware and its firmware, such as a SDHC version, real time save, real time cheat, homebrew soft reset and a lot of other updates. With all that added the SCDS1 REALLY needs a new review.

May I just ask what problems you had with the R4?
I had flashcards for the GBA and now for the DS, tried a lot of my friends DS-flashcards and such...
I have an M3 Simply which is the same as R4 and I never had ANY problems with it at all. I really don't have any need for sdhc since i can fit a lot into my 1gig card.... and with a 2gig card costing $12... well if i need the space i'll just buy a few more (Yes, the japanese kingston ones!!).

For me the R4 / Simply is perfect for me. Never failed me and is quick
