Hacking I can't get my EZ Flash II to work

Hey,

I posted a thread some days ago looking for info about the EZ Flash II (Powerstar). I think I have learned enough since, but I still can't get the bloody thing to work.

Here's what's going on:
* the driver is properly installed (I don't even use Vista)
* the cart is fully charged
* EZ Writer doesn't recognize it
* EZ Client seems to recognize it, but always freezes

The EZ Client, I reckon it to be the latest version. When it first loads, it says it's analyzing the cartridge, but it gets stuck at 1%. The led turns red while this is happening.

I don't know what to do.

I can tell you that I'm not using an USB hub, and I can also tell you I've cleaned up the contacts of both the adapter and the cartridge but apparently to no effect.

Help? Is my EZ Flash II dead?

try using the ez_mode.exe file to change the setting to EZ Flash 1/2 support.

if that doesn't work, your battery might be dead or dying. you can test it by dumping the save info, if it is blank your battery IS dead, if not you have some other issue.

If you have XP and SP3 installed, your probably going to need to downgrade to SP2 to use it. SP3 screws up most fresh installs.

maby try cleaning the edge connector too on both the card and the reader ...use a CUE TIP/COTTON BUD and flatten it out to clean them
