Hello there, I currently have a save of eur majora's mask on my gateway 3ds.
I bought the US eshop version yesterday.

What I would like to do is:

Converting EUR gateway save to US, then to eShop.

Is it even possible to do? if not, that isn't much a problem, I would just start over again :)

Thanks for answers if anyone knows :P

yeah its possible, i converted my cart save to eshop, and other people converted the EU save to US, so all the save formats are cross compatible

read this thread
https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutoria...av-to-eshop-3ds-3dz-with-savedatafiler.380246

so if I extract my eur save with savedatafiler I can insert it on my US eshop version, correct?
I see this tutorial earlier, I'm *cough* getting savedatafiler and will do.

Is there additionnal steps for region eshop cross conversion?

nope, you can go straight from EU to US eshop, just extract the EU save, move the extracted save over to the US extracted save in SDF and then re-import

yes do what gamesquest said, follow the tutorial, copy the save.bin from eur to the extracted folder of extracted us save.
reimport the modified us save and you're done :)

that worked fine on my Majora's mask save.

so i tried savedatafiler for the first time but i´m not sure if i´ve understood everything correctly..

3ds.essh.co didn´t list smt iv eur, but besides a lot of broken things i´ve got 0053F (mario land 3d), 00F1E (ace attorney v), 00518 (nintendo letter box) and the only one left is 0141C which are "unbroken" so this should be smt iv (it also has 2 .sav files in it, that would match)..
i´ve exported it with Y and then A, but i´m not sure how to continue..

the european .sav files are called sdds4game1.sav and sdds4game2.sav here, i don´t know if i have to go on SD in savedatafiler and press L+A in this case?

since i´ve got an eur 3ds and a us retail card, i think my next step would be

- to make a backup of the card game (because gateway classic mode and savedatafiler cia won´t work),
- then start the rom and create a save (haven´t saved anything yet in the us version),
- extract it the same way with savedatafiler like before (just 0E5C this time for the us version) (and also L+A on SD? i think i´ve to do it here, because i guess this one will be broken?),
- put my sd card in the pc and copy the .sav files from sd:/filer/..../0000141c to sd:/filer/.../0000E5C (if the us .sav has a different name i think the eur .sav should be renamed to the us .sav?)

and then how do i get to the retail card? in the gw menu is an option "restore 3ds savegame" but i don´t know if this for such cases? i think i´ve got to use the savedatafiler before one more time too.. anyhow..

sry for the many questions, i hope someone can help me if i´ve understood something wrong :/

edit: rereading it there must be something wrong ^^

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
