Umm try reading your original post again, nowhere did you say that. I'll requoate it if it help

You may have it to mean that, however I read what's actually written as I can't read people's minds nor do I read between the lines.

And my problem is you acting like you're mr know it all, especially in a previous thread where I made a suggestion to the op but you came in going "my way is the right way" well you didn't say it in those exact words. But your attitude and replies said as much, I don't read between the lines but when the replies constantly put down what someone says it's not hard to "read"
By "top post", Lacius meant the OP's first post. They stated why they didn't want to update just yet, and this is what Lacius was referring to in the part you bolded.

So you just hit start to exit. Some apps will hang so load up either Miiverse or the eshop to log in, and then everything will work fine.

Dammit, I just got back on this post to close my issue with that same link, too... and anyone else reading this, it gives that error and says it failed if you have Luma 8.0+ installed, but yellows8 said to ignore it, and I confirmed that once you pres start and exit ctr-httpwn AND HBL at the same time (which is normal for the new HBL, I was told), httpwn is actually working. Tested by going into eshop on 11.2 after running httpwn. But as stated, once you update firmware past 11.3, httpwn is patched and useless anyway. Oh, and I also realized I couldn't use httpwn with Pokemon Sun / Moon on my o3DS anyway because extended ram mode games.... woulda saved me a lot of time yesterday if I knew that.

Make a nand backup of 11.2 then upgrade, if you find something doesn't work on 11.5 you can just downgrade.

Did that already, I always make backups and verify before a major update. And if I feel like downgrading at any time on my own damn 3DS, I will regardless if anyone else would suggest it or not, but I would do so for a reason, not just on a whim.

The answer to most problems is https://3ds.guide, including this problem.

If you aren't on the latest FW, you never completed the guide. If you are, httpwn is not needed.
https://3ds.guide/finalizing-setup

I still need to go through that part, it wasn't actually linked to at the end of the setup for A9LH to B9S' guide. Everything's running well, though.

I did my update after coming to the conclusion from others and looking around that I didn't need to keep my older firmware to install anything I wouldn't be able to after updating, everything's working well, save for the broken httpwn. Sucks because that's literally the only thing I was using CFW / Homebrew for at the moment, just avoiding updates. Microsoft, Nintendo, Yahoo, and more have made me very untrusting of just updating shit just because it's newer. Never do it on stuff you don't want to have stuff screwed up by one of those updates before doing your research.

Also, my thread isn't a fight club, can you guys please stop arguing about that. Take it to PMs or something.
My thread's solved now for anyone else that might have the same questions.

So what is the solution? he wanted to use mystery machine from what I understand, which needs ctr-httpwn to work. How to use mystery machine on latest firmware? I am on 11.5 and I dont remember if i did backup on 11.2 or down...

Wow really, thanks I didn't know that..... NOT.

I WASN'T telling the op to upgrade, just pointing out that the upgrade process WASN'T irreversible as they'd mentioned in that TOP POST.

You really need to learn when to quit and you really need to figure out what your problem is. OP got their issue figured out so there's no need to continue talking about it.

I was asleep when you replied to me, don't know about you but I can't read/reply to posts while I'm asleep.
My problem in this case is you saying I don't know what "top post" means, I was simply pointing out to you that I do.

Where did I say you would be downgrading on a whim? And if you already knew you could downgrade why did you say the upgrade process is irreversible? Regardless of what others may be suggesting I can read.
As for not being able to use cttrpwn on sun/moon, I used it for the mystery gift on my o3ds

P.s I'm sorry I tried to help in trying to clear up you mistaken belief that the 11.5 upgrade would be irreversible, or at least that's what your post suggested. Again I'm not a mind reader/don't read between the lines, I simply go by what's actually written.

Short answer is that you can't, ctr-httpwn was patched on 11.4. My firmware was still on 11.2, so I could still use it, but I thought updating to B9S broke it, but I was mistaken, the error message is just a bug. If you're already on 11.5, the only way to use it is to restore Nand backups to 11.3 or under, but I've been told by many that if you already installed A9LH or B9S before you updated to 11.5, then you don't need to worry if Nintendo put out another update since they can't patch those (but update to B9S if you haven't already).

1. I wasn't even talking directly to you about that, but it was a response in regards to you stating someone would tell me there's no point downgrading. My response to someone telling me that is that if I want to downgrade, I will if I want to whether someone else thinks I should or not because I would do so for a reason.

2. Technically, yes it is impossible to downgrade from 11.5 because the whole thing that allowed doing the downgrade process was patched in 11.3, I think, maybe 11.4. I do have backups of my NAND at 11.2, 10.3 (I think), and a hardmod backup of 9.4, I believe, so I could restore an old NAND if I needed to. I keep them in case something goes wrong, or if there's something that I'd like to install but the installation method was patched or something, I don't keep up to date on all this, I just like having the options open whenever my interests might turn to messing around with homebrew.

3. It's impossible for ctr-httpwn to run alongside extended RAM games on the old 3DS, of which Sun and Moon are, yellows8 himself said so. The hax is cleared as soon as the game takes over the extra RAM, just like entering System Settings as it's like resetting the home menu or something. You see this if you try to use a code in the mystery gift menu. As soon as it tries to connect to the internet when you use the get gift with CODE option, you get told to do an update of the system, and also the game if it has one. Getting a mystery gift with the internet option, like with Tapu Koko doesn't trigger that because the code option connects to Nintendo's servers and the normal internet option connects to Gamefreaks' servers.

4. I didn't start this thread for you to reply and start a fight with Lacius by immediately calling him out by name about the downgrade thing, for either of you or him or KunoichiZ, so I asked you guys to just drop it. As a matter of fact, when Lacius responded, he didn't even care or tell me what to do anyway.

I just wanted to get help and figure it out, then post the solution, and I did do the same thing you were suggesting anyway, but not because of that, I always make backups before updating.

I've not tried downgrading myself, however I'm pretty sure downgrading is simpler than you made it out to be. Nand backup plus godmode9.

Also I'm certain I did the lycanrock(sp) mystery gift via code on my o3ds xl, it wasn't working when I was trying on Luma 6.6 but upgrading to 7.05 allowed me to do it. This was before I update to b9s and 8.0(now 8.1), at which point I upgraded to 11.4(this was before 11.5 release) so looks like I'm going to have to upgrade to 11.5 before getting the current gifts.

Edit: found the thread where I asked about using ctr-httpwn on Pokémon sun/moon https://gbatemp.net/threads/is-the-banwave-over.471999/page-3
But like I said I'm now on 11.4 so can't test it anymore.
