Just thought I'd throw out that there appears to be a bad rip of Disgaea 2 out there. I downloaded mine a few weeks ago (from a demonic place), and while it was a clean rip, this method refused to work on it. I tried a dozen different ways of doing it (with/without file list, iso/cso, load settings, etc.) and it never worked. I redownloaded it from a different source, and the method worked flawlessly. And for the record, it wasn't something on my end. The same above method worked on GT and Soul Calibur (minus that weird loading freeze) first try, yet the new download of Disgaea 2 was the only way to fix it.
Yeah the most common problem seems to be bad rips.

QUOTE(Lakerfanalways @ Sep 30 2009, 11:14 PM) Ok I did the tutorial, and I am trying to run Gran Turismo right now..I am having issues cause it goes through the auto saving process, it says not to turn it off it is auto saving, but then the screen goes black and nothing happens. I am thinking that I have to do something else to make it work. someone was telling me I have to Press R when I turn it on and enable the m33 driver but I dont know how to do that
Hmm which version of Gran Turismo are you using, are you using the US version or the EU version.
I've heard the EU has problems playing with that freezing after the auto save process. I've tested the US version and it works perfectly.

I have the US version. Someone here posted a patch that when I put the ISO onto it it creates a new ISO for me that is supposed to work, and the game does load, I see the logo and everything, but when it says to not turn off the PSP when its creating an autosave nothing happens

You can try the patch. Although I'm using the US version yet I haven't gotten any freezes in the game.

Yeah that's the thing. I Tried that patch and it made a new ISO but it still does that. What was this I read about having to load it from the M33 driver instead of SONY..perhaps that is what I am doing wrong

It should work if you have the following set.

QUOTE
Firmware: 5.50 GEN-X(A or B should work)
I've tested that M33 and Sony Driver should work.
and that you have disabled, Execute BOOT.BIN and Load Plain Modules, in your PSP's Recovery Menu

If you have that all right it could just be a bad rip/dump.

Ok..I am running 5.50 GEN B so thats good. How do I test M33 and sony drivers work..how do I check that?
Also, I am in Recovery Menu, what do I have to do..what do I have to disable and what do I have to enable in order for it to work

Which rip made yours work? for Disgaea 2 I mean

This place where Pirates dock their ships.

Also, GT (US) has been the only one to work perfectly, the first time for me. SC still does the weird freezing on loading screens thing every now and then. That's very odd the GT would freeze after the saving screen, I've never heard of that one. As for the drivers, hit select while in the XMB, and scroll down to UMB ISO Mode. That's where you can change that.

edit: Looks like I was ninja'd, heh. But don't worry, either method does the same thing, just different ways to do it. Minus the advanced modules stuff, that's only in the Recovery Menu.

For Drivers go to Main Recovery menu then Configuration>UMD Mode - Change it to either Sony NP9660 or use M33 driver.

Then go back to Main Recovery menu, Go to Advanced>Advanced Configuration and Disable the two options, "Plain Modules in UMD/ISO" and "Execute BOOT.BIN in UMD/ISO"

Ok so I just went into the config/usb mode and changed it to UMB mode-currently: m33 driver-NO UMD)
now I am in advanced/advanced and those two options were already disabled..is that Ok?

Hmm then it could just be a bad rip/dump if those settings were set from the start.
Try it with those settings if it still freezes. Then reply back but tell me the size of the patched ISO/CSO.

IT WORKS!!! I guess the one I had before was just a bad dump
It seems bad dumps are one of the big problems most people are getting.

I think people should start posting their ISO/CSO size when they post in the Game Decrypter Compatibility List thread, it could help to know if you got a bad dump or not.

The one that works for me is 942mb. Someone already pre patched it and it works great. Thanks for telling me about the m33 driver thing. That was probably part of the issue, the second part it being a bad dump. The iso that I had gotten was 1.02 gig so I guess it was just bad. Also, I want the game motorstorm, but right now I can only find the EUR version. Can I play a EUR version an US PSP or will I have issues with that

Someone needs to say it so I will.

WHO'S YOUR DADDY, DARK_ALEX FANS?

Anyways, aside from pointing the "I told you so" finger at people, this program works like a charm. Running 5.50GEN B-2 and no problems yet.

I've played MotorStorm, Gran Turismo, Dirt 2, and Disgaea 2 with no problems. Props go to whoever made this.

I guess Dark_AleX is gone for good myself, wouldn't you all agree.

Now, maybe we of both camps can all hold hands and give hugs and be friends again....

working great here , easily updated from m33 to gen b2 . and motorstorm.cso and gt.iso running good so far

Sorry for this random question, what was that AceAttorney folder for?
Its the First Ace Attorney Game in made Java ME (Basicly a Cell phone game) and using PSPKVM, (it can emulate Java ME) makes it so its playable although the screen is very small.

I would play the GBA versions but there's no one that cares for translating the GBA versions since the DS ones are translated.
