I don't think I would ever be mistaken for 'attractive', but one has to wonder, some of those girls really need to rethink how to take a picture of themselves, so they don't go giving fuel to this sort of thing. I don't know that anyone looks good enough 'on the inside' to accomodate for a bad dating site picture.
