ROM Hack How to set a value infinitely?

Hello.

There is a game I have that has no cheats for it yet, and I have a few.

How can I make a hex value be set infinitely? So player1 has 999 lives and is locked at that value?

Found where the Life value is stored in RAM, then make a cheat to put xx at the adress from the life value (as much as you want) instead.
and it'll be constant if your cheat is still active when you're playing so...
